Florida's Urban Meyer close to claim of "fastest football team in America"

GAINESVILLE — The Florida men's track and field team finished ninth in the nation last year. It was a good finish, but it could have been better if the fastest people on campus came out for the team.

Namely, some of the guys that play football for Urban Meyer

"From January to June, if I had Chris Rainey, Percy Harvin, Deonte Thompson and Jeff Demps, I believe we could win an NCAA title," track coach Mike Holloway said. "Those guys aren't football fast. They're just fast."

They need to run a 4x100 Football Relay. Probably could be Top 3 at NCAA's and Im being conservative.

Well seeing that one of the guys listed is the WORLD JUNIOR RECORD HOLDER and Chris Rainey lead off the Florida's 3rd place 4x100m team at the NCAA Meet last spring, I can safely say that these football players earned the hype they are getting. You must be a distance runner or a slow sprinter..LMAO!!!!

yeah, knowing that Harvin was his state champ back in high school, and Demps running, only a 10.01, against Tyson Gay, only the American record holder at 9.77, and the others guaranteeing having some sort of track experience, can put together a 4x100m, and with no practice run 38's, easily...don't be suprise if they can put a 4x400m together and drop a sub 3:05...i wouldn't be surprise, and I run 46's in the 400m...so I know what the business is when it comes to the Florida Gators (p.s. don't forget Calvin Smith).
