William & Mary swept the 2008 CAA cross country championships Saturday morning at Bull Run Regional Park in Manassas, Va., marking the sixth straight year that the Tribe has claimed both titles.  Georgia State senior Mark Steeds won the men’s individual championship, while William & Mary junior Emily Anderson captured the women’s individual title.

William & Mary's men, who are ranked 21st in the nation, captured the CAA title for the ninth year in a row.  The Tribe dominated the race, placing nine runners among the top 12 overall finishers to record 20 points.  Georgia State finished in second place with 70 points, followed by George Mason (92), Delaware (93), VCU (123), Northeastern (176), Hofstra (189), and UNC Wilmington (210).

Steeds completed the eight kilometer course in 23:56, which was the second-fastest time on an 8K course in CAA Championship history.  It was the first CAA title for Steeds, who won the event by just four seconds.  Second place went to Tribe junior Colin Leak (24:00), W&M junior John Grey (24:05) finished in third and Tribe sophomore Patterson Wilhelm (24:17) took fourth, while junior Harry Miller (24:37) from William & Mary collected fifth.
