Jordan Hasay named USATF Athlete of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - Jordan Hasay has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after winning the 61st annual Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational Saturday in Walnut, Calif.

A senior at Mission Prep High School, Hasay won her fourth consecutive Individual Sweepstakes girls race, completing the three mile course in 16 minutes 27 seconds. Her time is the second fastest time ever posted on the Mt. SAC course, trailing only former Ukiah High standout Amber Trotter, who set the all time course best at the 2001 invitational with a time of 16:16.

Now in its seventh year, USATF's Athlete of the Week program is designed to recognize outstanding performers at all levels of the sport. USATF names a new honoree each week and features the athlete on the USATF website. Selections are based on top performances and results from the previous week.
