NUMBER OF VIEWERS

I believe comparing the number of viewers from swimming to track is a joke. The swimming was often on at the prime time 8:00pm slot and track was on at an exhausting 11:00 to 1:00am slot.(eastern) No way can you compare the two. If NBC had the guts to put track on during prime time it would have been no contest. Even when track was on SAT. the time was placed at 5:00pm. Most people are out and about on a Sat. afternoon. Notice swimmming was on at 8:00pm the same night. Again you can't compare. The coverage by NBC was pathetic. They had way to many commericals during awesome distance racing. They don't deserve to have the ability to cover the trials. I rather have a pay per view to watch the whole thing.

I agree that the coverage was terrible and in bad time slots. What's new though. NBC has always done a bad job with their coverage. In most of the field events you have to do some kind of gimmick to even get coverage. Other wise they often won't even mention several of the field events. Track & Field is a secondary sport in the United States and very few people are trying to do anything to change that.
