Boma is an NCAA Division III All-American in the 400 meter hurdles |
The highlight of Boma's career was achieving NCAA Division III Outdoor All-American status in the 400 meter hurdles. He also started running track his sophmore year of high school and was a member of Illinois Class A 99' State Championship team. High school honors included All-State 110 high hurdles, All-South Team and All-Conference team. Boma took a year off to work, then moved back home to attend Junior College while coaching at high school for two years, Assistant Coach for 01' State Championship team, 02' State Runner up team, coached double champion high/intermediate hurdler along with other All-State hurdlers.
From there, Boma moved on to Monmouth College where he's earned 8 Midwest Conference Championships Indoor/Outdoor along with reaching the NCAA Division III Championship Indoor and Outdoor (55H, 400IH, 4x4). His off season training was way above par last year compared to his previous years and this years off season is even harder, more goal oriented and planned out. Boma's goal this year is to win the NCAA Division III hurdles with a 50.5 or lower. He's had to overcome a lack of talent with hard work, self motivation and discipline to do that work to achieve his goals. Boma's progression times by year include: (400Ih - 54.85, 53.65, 52.02) (4x4 splits - 52.0, 50.30, 48.2) (55M - 6.64, 6.63, 6.49) (55HH - 7.80, 7.76, 7.62).
