A nine-time All-American in his career, Mitch Potter enters his senior year for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Placing third in the 400 meters at the 2003 NCAA Outdoor Championships with a time of 44.58, Potter held the third-fastest time in the world at that point of the season behind teammate Adam Steele of Minnesota and Otis Harris of South Carolina.
Potter also helped the 4x400 meter relay to second-place finish in a school-record time of 3:02.33. Also claiming the 400 meter title at the NCAA Midwest Regional in a then-school-record time of 44.93, Potter has established himself as one of the best 400 meter talents in the world today.
Capturing the gold medal in the 400 meters at the 2003 Pan-American Games and a
member of the 4x400 meter relay pool at the 2003 World Championships in Paris, Potter looks for another outstandig season in 2004. View his journals from last season as well.
