Mitch Potter enters the 2003 season as one of the best long
sprinters in the nation. With a personal best time of 45.40 in the
400 meters, Potter has captured All-America honors in each of his
three NCAA Indoor Championships appearances and now has a total
of seven All-America accolades in his Golden Gopher career.
Now entering his junior year, Potter was named the Midwest Region
Athlete of the Year during the indoor season. He set the Minnesota
school indoor record in the 400-meters at 45.89 earlier this season.
In 2001, he set a freshman and then-school 400-meter dash record
of 45.40 winning the Sea Ray Relays at Tennessee.
