» Watson returned for a fifth year of eligibility
in track for 2003 after missing the 2001 season due to a knee
injury. He earned the Big East Championship Most Outstanding
Track Performer award at the 2002 outdoor meet, winning the
3,000-meter steepelchase in school-record time (8:37.61) and
the 5,000 meters (13:59.38). |
Mitch Potter of Minnesota
» Mitch Potter entered the 2003 season as one of
the best long sprinters in the nation. The junior ended his
collegiate season taking third in the 400 meters with a personal-best
time of 44.58 and anchoring the Gophers to a second place finish
in the 4x400 meter relay. |
Josh Spiker of Wisconsin
» In his redshirt freshman year of 2002, Josh Spiker
earned three All-American certificates with a 9th place finish
at cross country nationals, anchored the DMR team to a 2nd place
finish at indoor NCAA's, and placed 3rd in the NCAA outdoor
1500 meter final. |
Glenn McFadden of Mississippi
State » After finishing his high school
indoor season with the second-fastest 200 meter time in the
nation at 21.05, McFadden was the top freshman 200 meter sprinter
last season in the SEC for the Bulldogs. |
