WOW!!! The sprint double? That has not been done in a while. I think He is by far the best in the 200m but I think the 100m is a toss up. I think there will be a new work record. But I do agree with the top 3 in the 100m. Just not in that order.

YOU ACTUALLY PICKED SIHINE NOT GETTING SILVER. HE may be the only man that can upset Bekele. You should only think that the Silver man or Mr. Silver (Sihine) can only get a silver or higher not lower. use your brain

100m - powell/bolt/dix
200m - bolt/dix/spearmon
400m - warriner/merritt/rooney
800m - kaki/reed/the russian guy
1500m - lagat
5000m - bekele/lagat - bekele is too good for lagat
10000m - bekele

I really think that powell will win it, he almost has to. He has too many strengths(physically), just so long as his head doesn't mess it up. I like dix for two individual medals.

Unexpected

I Dont Think Gay will place in the 100m . I predict the long rumuree Caribbean Sweep will Finaly come to pass. Another thing Jamaica is definitely winning the 4x100. And Spearmon will not finish in the top 3 of the 200.

800

Borzokofski[sic] in the 800 medals. He has run 1:42.79 this year.

Allyson Felix & Kerron Clement WILL win GOLD!

As for some of the other predictions:
Torrie Edwards over Lauren Williams ?????? I don't think Torrie will medal, and feel that Lauren will place higher.

Tiffany Ross over Melanie Walker ??????
Martyn Rooney over Chris Brown/Angelo Taylor?????
Danny McFarlane over Felix Sanchez ?????

I dont' know ????????

WHAT WILL HAPPEN.....

MERRITT WILL SMASH WARINER.
US WINS 4X1
TYSON WILL WIN THE 100
US WINS 4X4 BY 2 WEEKS

Aarik Wilson

06:57, 6 August 2008 .. Posted by Anonymous
No love for American TJ'er Aarik Wilson?

Otherwise, your biggest oversight is lack of inclusion of anyone Chinese. It is foolish to think the Chinese will not medal in at least ONE Olympic Track & Field Event.

Chinese?

Who besides Liu Xiang has a chance to win a medal? Even so, it's not like he's running super fast right now to earn anything....I'm just curious.

5k

Watch Rashid Ramzi to challenge for the gold in the slower championship race.

Re: WHAT WILL HAPPEN

Are you dreaming? How can you say Merritt will smash Wariner? The same dude who cried like a BIATCH because he did not get a lane inside Jeremy? When it all boils down to it Wariner is better...he is the fastest over 400m and will be proven in the finals... I also agree with th Powell prediction in th 100m. Right now he is the strongest and most consistent. And i love Tyson like the next but he has not raced since the Trials. He may not even make it past the semi-final. If he gets hurt Jamaica will finally win the 4X100m with Trinidad placing second.

Chris Brown

01:38, 7 August 2008 .. Posted by Anonymous
Chris Brown will beat out Rooney in the 400 for Bronze ....It's gonna be Wariner beating Merrit and Brown of the Bahamas in a solid third then the field will come in... Trust, Brown is no slouch...but Wariner will win in considerable fashion

Sprints

I think this is going to be Powell's year, he knows he can beat Usain (he already did) and he knows he can beat Tyson Gay. All he has to do is not loose focus, not to mention Tyson Gay fell at the 200m prelims so you have to question whether or not he is 100%. Walter Dix's chances are looking good, I'd like to see his go 3rd or 2nd in the 100m.

Don't count out Crawford in the 200m. He has been laying low with his times this past year, but he turn it up a little in the qualifiers, he could bring it. Also don't count out Dix or Spearmon in the 200m also, Spearmon is looking for his time to shine and Dix is nothing to sneeze at. Both those sprinters are looking for a medal.

Wariner and Merritt will battle it out in the 400m with out a doubt. It will come down to who can stay focused the most and who has more guts. I think Wariner can pull it off.

Powell

03:55, 7 August 2008 .. Posted by Anonymous
How come after years of coming up short in big meets people all of a sudden think Powell will break through in China? I'd like to see him win on a smaller stage (Worlds) before declaring him mentally tough enough to win on the biggest.

Olympic Sprints

Watch out for Walter Dix. He has the heart and talent to win. The Jamaicians will fold under pressure. Powell can't deal with pressure and Bolt will tightin up if someone is next to me in the later part of the race. Tyson Gay should be solid in the 100. Maybe, this time he'll post a 9.68 with the aiding wind at 2 mps or less. I also believe that the USA 4X100 will smoke Jamaica with a new world record.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN 2.....

02:37, 7 August 2008 .. Posted by Anonymous
WARINER WILL NOT WIN PERIOD.
JAMAICANS WILL CHOKE IN ALL EVENTS AND WILL BE REFERRED TO AS SILVERICANS.
GAY WILL WIN THE 100 IN 9.70
ANGELO TAYLOR WILL WIN THE 400 HURDLES....
DID I MENTION WARINER WILL GET TRASHED?!

Liu Xiang should see a silver in the 110HH.
Ian Waltz will be lucky to make it beyond the prelims.
Christian Cantwell should see third but the bigger the meet the greater likelihood is own hand will be around his neck.
Loúis Tsátoumas will be hard-pressed to get third, its anybody's game.
The U.S. will be hard-pressed to beat Jamaica in the 4X100 with Jamaica's deep talent together with the U.S. notoriety to screw up hand offs.
Kerron Clement's greater abilities should override Jackson's greater technique and consistency.
While I would love to see Lagat win two golds, it seems more likely that he will win one or none than two.
Martyn Rooney won't medal in the 400M.
Wallace Spearmon isn't the same sprinter he was one or even two years ago. He will be hard-pressed to medal.
I would have liked Tyson Gay for first or second about a month ago, but now it depends upon his hamstring.

Should also predict times of winners

06:48, 7 August 2008 .. Posted by Anonymous
What would be fun is predicting the times of winners.

Liu Xiang

11:32, 7 August 2008 .. Posted by Anonymous
Liu Xiang is going to win a medal in the 110HH there is no question. He might not get Gold, but he wants to show more than anything that he is the best hurdler in the world. In his home country i think he will do that.

400m

12:54, 8 August 2008 .. Posted by Anonymous
400m - warriner/merritt/rooney WOW This is not going to happen. It will be Merritt/Wariner/ and the guy from the Bahamas.

chris brown

02:19, 8 August 2008 .. Posted by Anonymous
the guy from the bahamas is chris brown and i agree, hes been running consitent mid-44s.

as far as liu xiang goes im shocked hes not picked to medal at all. before robles broke the world record was he not the clear cut favorite to win? i guess i could see all that pressure getting to him but I'd say hes gonna at least medal.

800 meter

03:12, 8 August 2008 .. Posted by Anonymous
you dont have the DIII phenom Nick Simmons in the top 3 thats bull crap i believe he will medal and push hisself

Chris

04:15, 8 August 2008 .. Posted by Anonymous
Chris will medal in the 400m he has the 3 fastest time in the world this year 44.40 what has rRooney ran thus far? you are wrong

3000 Men Steeplechase

05:44, 9 August 2008 .. Posted by Anonymous
Not in that order.
Ezekiel Kemboi Kenya
Brimin Kipruto Kenya
Mubarak Taher Tareq Bahrain

Don't forget Trinidad & Tobago in the 4x100m men's relay

04:11, 12 August 2008 .. Posted by Kern
While we may think of U.S.A. and Jamaica to take the medal stand in Beijing in the 4x100m men's relay, we should not forget that Trinidad & Tobago has 3 of the top 15 fastest men to date. This certainly places them in medal contention and cause a possible upset to medal predictions in Beijing.

Decathlon

02:51, 15 August 2008 .. Posted by Anonymous
I think Maurice Smith is definitely a strong contender for any of the 3 medals...He won silver at WC's last year and he has gotten better and improved a lot in his events...IMO he will definitely medal
