Women's Hammer Throw: Final - Wed, Aug 20 7:20 AM ET

Who to watch: Aksana Miankova (BLR), Martina Danišová-Hrasnová (SVK), Yipsi Moreno (CUB), Darya Pchelnik (BLR)

Outlook: The Bearussian record holder, Aksana , heads into the women's hammer throw final as the favorite boasting a personal and season-best mark of 77.32 meters. Miankova looked good enough in the qualifying rounds to establish herself as the one to beat in the finals. Martina Danišová-Hrasnová of Slovakia and Yipsi Moreno of Cuba should give Miankova a run for the gold and it would not be surprising to see either athlete on top. Moreno came away with the top mark from the qualifying round at 73.92m.

Men's 200m: Final - Wed, Aug 20 10:20 AM ET

Who to watch: Usain Bolt (JAM), Shawn Crawford (USA), Walter Dix (USA), Wallace Spearmon (USA), Churandy Martina (AHO)

Outlook: Is another world record possible? Jamaica's Usain Bolt is on a mission and no one has looked more comfortable running so fast than the 100 meter world record holder. Bolt had the fastest qualifying time from the semifinals at 20.09 while making it look easy. Michael Johnson's world record time of 19.32 set at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics is a feat that no one has ever thought could be taken down. Bolt appears to be the only man to better that record right now. Shawn Crawford, the defending Olympic Champion, leads a strong field of U.S. runners including Wallace Spearmon and Walter Dix. The fight for silver and bronze should be the real race here as the U.S. should take those two spots on the podium. Churandy Martina of the Netherlands Antilles set a new national record with his time of 20.11 in the semifinals as well.

Women's 400m Hurdles: Final - Wed, Aug 20 10:35 AM ET

Who to watch: Tiffany Ross-Williams (USA), Sheena Tosta (USA), Melaine Walker (JAM), Tasha Danvers (GBR)

Outlook: Considering the lane assignments for the final, Sheena Tosta of the U.S. (lane 5) and Melaine Walker of Jamaica (lane 6) will have the advantage of seeing all of the contenders in front of them. Tiffany Ross-Williams of the U.S. has run well all season long and drew lane 8 for the final after her semifinals performance of 54.99. Tosta has been molded into top form over the past month and could be a strong selection for gold, along with Walker. This should be the best race of the day as several have a shot to come away with the title.

Other non-final events to watch:

The women's 200 meter semifinals will take place in which all three U.S. and Jamaican athletes have made it through so far. The men's 110m hurdles semifinals look to shape a title run between David Oliver of the U.S. and world record holder Dayron Robles of Cuba. Qualification rounds will also see the men's 800m, men's 5,000m and the men's pole vault.
