Men's High Jump: Final - Tue, Aug 19 7:10 AM ET

Who to watch: Stefan Holm (SWE), Andrey Silnov (RUS), Yaroslav Rybakov (RUS), Germaine Mason (GBR)

Outlook: Stefan Holm of Sweden looks to become the first athlete in Olympic history to repeat as the Champion. Heading into the final, it should be a three-way battle between Holm and the remaining Russian's, Andrey Silnov and Yaroslav Rybakov. Holm and Silnov each hold season-best clearances of 2.37 and 2.38 meters. Don't overlook Germaine Mason of Great Britain who could easily medal if one of the Russian's shall falter.

Men's Discus Throw: Final - Tue, Aug 19 9:00 AM ET

Who to watch: Gerd Kanter (EST), Virgilijus Alekna (LTU), Mario Pestano (ESP), Piotr Malachowski (POL)

Outlook: In an event which will see two athletes holding marks over 70 meters this season, the chase for the gold should be between Gerd Kanter of Estonia and Virgilijus Alekna of Lithuania. Kanter, who's thrown a personal-best mark of 73.38 meters, is the strongest contender in the group. Mario Pestano of Spain and Piotr Malachowski of Poland should each throw well, although it may be difficult to overtake Kanter and Alekna.

Women's 400m: Final - Tue, Aug 19 10:10 AM ET

Who to watch: Sanya Richards (USA), Amantle Montsho (BOT), Shericka Williams (JAM), Anastasiya Kapachinskaya (RUS), Christine Ohuruogu (GBR)

Outlook: Is there any denying Sanya Richards of the United States in this race? Richards has lost several big races in the past, but she is in top form and will not let anyone past her in the final. Amantle Montsho of Botswana appears to be the strongest challenger for Richards, although the real race should be for silver and bronze. Shericka Williams of Jamaica, Anastasiya Kapachinskaya of Russia and Christine Ohuruogu of Great Britain all have an opportunity to stand on the medal podium with Richards.

Women's 100m Hurdles: Final - Tue, Aug 19 10:30 AM ET

Who to watch: Lolo Jones (USA), Damu Cherry (USA), Dawn Harper (USA), Delloreen Ennis-London (JAM), Brigitte Foster-Hylton (JAM)

Outlook: The shocking news from the final will be the non-appearance of Sweden's Susanna Kallur who hit the first hurdle and fell during the semifinal round yesterday. With Kallur out, that gives the United States a much better shot at taking the top three spots in the event. Lolo Jones has been on fire all season long and will be the odds-on favorite for the title. Damu Cherry and Dawn Harper have an excellent shot to step up and join Jones in claiming all three medals. Jamaica's Brigitte Foster-Hylton will start out of lane 9 which may make it a bit difficult to pull off a big upset. Teammate Delloreen Ennis-London will be in the running as well.

Men's 1,500m: Final - Tue, Aug 19 10:50 AM ET

Who to watch: Augustine Kiprono Choge (KEN), Asbel Kipruto Kiprop (KEN), Abdalaati Iguider (MAR), Mehdi Baala (FRA)

Outlook: It will be difficult for any United States fan to watch this final as Bernard Lagat was shut out of qualifing, along with Lopez Lomong and Leonel Manzano. The race, however, should be spectacular as several names have a legitimate shot at taking gold. Augustine Kiprono Choge and Asbel Kipruto Kiprop of Kenya appear to be at the top of their game and are the only athletes in the group who have run under 3:32 this season. Morocco’s Abdalaati Iguider has run 3:32.63 earlier this season in Rehlingen and should be a strong medal threat as well.

Other non-final events to watch:

The men's 200 meter semifinals will take place in which Usain Bolt has looked great so far after two rounds. The men's 400 meter semifinals also take shape as Jeremy Wariner and LaShawn Merritt appear to be the only gold medal threats in the group so far. More events will include the opening rounds of the women's 200 meters, women's 5,000 meters, women's long jump, women's javelin and the quarterfinals of the men's 110m hurdles.
