Tennis Anyone?

Monday- Alright... lets get this thing started! So today I started off doing a 2.5 mile warm up, had timed runs where the hard intervals were 6 min, 5 min, 4 min, 3 min....all with 2 minutes jog recovery. After takin a breath once I was finished, I did a 1.3 mile cool down. I felt pretty good most of the run. My shins and knees were actin up so I made sure that I ice cupped my shins when I got home. And I'll definitely be getting back on my glucosamine for my knees... dang genetics haha. Well... first day went pretty good! Can't wait to get to the rest of it....

Mileage: 7.3 miles

Tuesday - So just about the end of classes yesterday I started feeling kind of icky, so I decided to go kind of easy today. Just did  40 minute run. I was supposed to do some 200's but didn't wanna push my body too much when I think I might be coming down with a cold. We'll see how I feel tomorrow!
Mileage: 5 miles

Wednesday - Yeah... so it's official... I'm sick. Teaching today was just terrible. All I wanna do when I get sick is lay in bed and stay knocked out. But instead I was in charge of 70+ kiddies. I made it through though, so at least there's that. I'm completely dead right now though, so I'm going to use today as my day off... and hopefully can be back and ready to run by tomorrow... that's not too much to ask is it?

Sunday - Ok... so I pretty much stayed sick the rest of the week... but now I think I'm pretty much recovered so I'm going to rewind and start my training block ALL over again this monday. Hopefully this time I'll stay healthy!

So some things that happened this week that I think are fun haha. On Friday it was my roommates birthday, so we went to Atlanta. First we went to the aquarium because she looooves the fishies. It was soo much fun though because on Fridays during September they have a live jazz band. So we had bomb music to listen and dance too while lookin at all the fishies and animals. After that we went to Atlantic Station for dinner. We had planned to go to this sushi place, but when we got there it was a super long wait AND the sushi was slightly pricey. So we ended up at California Pizza Kitchen... looove their pizzas. My roomie had heard of this place where they played live music and it was kinda chill... so after getting lost only once we found our way there. And let me just say that the way we had to pay for parking was SO bootleg! They had this thing with all the parking spot numbers, and above the slots there was a slit. You had to pay your three dollars by folding up your dollars, one by one, and stuffing them into the slot using the "pusher" (which hung from a cord)... I had no words. The place we went to was called Apache Cafe and they were having an unsigned artist spotlight type thing. It was sooo awesome. It was the kind of place that you could dance too and not have to worry about people pushin up on you or harassing you, and there was almost no smoke. We had planned to leave around midnight (cuz we had an hour and a half drive home). But we got guilt tripped into stayin for the final act... which was all they hyped themselves up to be. Right now I'm totally addicted to their song "Alter Ego".... which also happens to be the name of their group. Check out their myspace page if ya want.

Then today (Sunday) I had to speak in front of our church... i was so nervous, but it went pretty good. Then later we went and played some tennis with the boys, soo much fun. I'm glad we're playin that again. Its sooo much fun!

How is teaching?

How is school? Are you finding a decent balance with teaching and running? I left teaching to run and just wondering how other runner-teachers are doing.
