On the way back up
So... I've been kind of MIA lately, and wanted to give you all an update. I've now officially moved to Georgia, its been about 3 weeks right now. So far I'm absolutely loving it, and I've been busy as dirt! I got hired at a great high school here... 3 days after I moved down. Gettin ready for all that entails has been exhausting and school actually starts tomorrow . As far as my training goes, I've been really slowly building it back up. I'm trying to do a rotation of hill sprints, progressive runs, and timed runs. My coach and I have been talking (as usual) and we're actually going to change up my training again, see how that works. So I'll be sharing that new plan with you as soon as we get it nailed down! Sooooo.... thats pretty much all for updates... now on to my training this past week!
Sunday: 2x5 hill sprints.... 3.5 miles Monday: day off (my calves were shot from the hills) Tuesday: 6 mile run Wednesday: 4.5 mile run (with the hs cross country team) Thursday: Timed runs (2x6min hard, 2 min jog recovery, 2x4min hard and 2x2min hard with 1 min jog recovery Friday: day off Saturday: 16 min progressive.... 4.3 miles Total mileage: 25.3 miles

Hey, I moving to ATL in a few weeks to train. Where will you be training? What tracks will you be using?
I haven't found a job yet though. To be a teacher, did you get your masters or have to get certified?

glad to see that you have started running again :)
Now you're rollin
Good to hear you are moved and getting back into training. Crazy that school is right in front of you! Good luck with that. What grades/subjects are you teaching? How are the x-c/track teams at the high school?
In response...

I'm actually not in ATL... I'm in Athens. Which is about an hour and a half north of Atlanta. Since I'm fitting training in between coaching and teaching I'll be doin most of my workouts at the high school. And to become a teacher, I actually majored in it in college (secondary math ed) and then had to take an exam (Praxis II) to prove that I was "highly certified"... Then once that's done I had to apply to get my teaching license!
I'll actually be teaching Informal Geometry and Algebra II Advanced. The school's womens track team won state last year, and we have some very promising sophomores that I just can't wait to get my hands on!
