Where is my race? (biting Joshwyns moment haha)

Thursday – So we had a recovery run today, and I was more sore than I thought I was going to be. So I took it nice and slow and gave my body a chance to recover. I had my presentation today and I think it went really really good mainly because I think I talked about a topic not a lot of people know about. Pretty good day all around I guess J

50min run

Mileage: 6.3 miles

Friday –I took today off from running and played coach at practice today. It was a lot of fun and I think it might have actually been helpful to some of my teammates. Then I had to scurry off to work… and that was basically my day! Hahaha… nothing too fun there… OH except my roomie and I had a wonderful little dance party around the apartment haha. It was lots of fun.

Saturday – Got up this morning to pre-meet before we drove out to San Fran… and the pre-meet felt pretty dang good. It was a beautiful sunshine day, and I had my gospel/Christian music blaring… it was beautiful. In the afternoon coach and I drove out to San Fran cuz we were staying in his dads girlfriends house (which is just amazing! There is so much art in every room). It was soo relaxing cuz we all went out to dinner and had conversations about how our different generations view politics and the government. It was so much fun. But its early to bed cuz I got the race tomorrow

Mileage: 3 miles

Sunday – Went to breakfast this morning at this cute little place down the street from where we were stayin with coaches dad and girl. This little snobby girl almost got punched though. I can’t stand pompous people. We were lookin at the menu getting ready to order (cuz you order at the counter) and she walk in with her little friends and says “Oh gosh, tourists. This is gonna be ugly”.  She got one of the meanest looks and immediately shut up. Ugh… can’t stand people like that. Anyways, on to the meet… ugh. So I went to warm up and felt kind of heavy, but I thought it was just gonna be during my warm up right? Not so much. During strides and everything fast I did, I felt like I was forcing my stride and even getting a full stride. But I was still like, all right… it’ll be ok in the race. Once we got out there without our sweats… I really realized how cold it was… and the breezy didn’t help. So… the gun goes off… and in the first 200 I just feel like I’m not moving, but I still hit the split I was lookin for, so I was like ok… not bad. Hit the 400 right at 62-63 like I wanted, then the next two… I knew I should move around the group cuz we were slowing. And I didn’t feel tired… my body just wouldn’t move. But at the 600 I was able to put in a move and get around the first group… but then I couldn’t get to the next gear to move up with the main group. It just felt so weird. Like I wasn’t even as tired as I was in Mt. Sac at all! After the race all the girls and I were talking about how cold it was, how some of them were afraid of pulling something the last 100… it was a mess. I was really disappointed, and getting frustrated, because I know these races aren’t at all a reflection of what I’m capable of running right now. Like not even close. And it sucks to keep saying that, but not being able to show it. The crazy thing is one of the first things coach and my dad told me was that I looked to tight while I was running, almost like I run when I’m injured. Weird… so I need to just get it together for the next race… I’m tryin to stay positive and patient… but it’s soooo freakin hard to do! I’m not a patient person by nature. At all. These are the things I was telling myself (yeah to make myself feel better) 1. I have had far less races as I’m used to having (since I didn’t run cross or indoors this year) and am still getting back into things, 2. I have never ran under 2:07 before regionals… so don’t stress. We’ll see… we’ll see.

Mileage: 3.5 miles

Total Mileage: 45.6 miles

You already know this, but once you cut back those miles towards your last race, your time is going to start dropping dramatically. I look forward to the results!

I kinda hope you're kidding about the 3 miles comment haha. The last two days on this blog were 3 miles cuz they were pre-meet and meet days. Otherwise my average is higher... so i hope you were joking haha...

And thanks for the other comment... like i said i'm not patient... i want it to drop now! haha
