Don't call it a comeback hahaha

Tuesday – So coming off the weekend we just did a speed session today. I didn’t get to finish it though because between the hurdle drills, the wobble boards, and the hill sprints…my ankle got irritated again so we reeled it in and called it quits before the sprints. I did do weights today though after practice. I need to get more consistent with those things haha. I felt sooo bad today, I pulled a bad friend move. I was supposed to pick up one of my friends at 6:45 from school and give her a ride home… so I’m at home cookin a steak getting all excited and it’s 7:05. My phone starts ringing and I see her name on the caller id… CRAP. That’s when I remembered. But we got it situated haha. My bad!

Mileage: 4 miles

Wednesday – Since I have a track workout tomorrow and my ankle is still twinging a little bit I decided to jump on the bike instead of run the trails today. I rode that bad boy for 56 minutes… woohoo.  But let me tell you what my roommate put me through haha. Well it’s really not her fault. There was a track meet at the high school I used to teach at (so I went and visited the kiddies… even got a few hugs) and then had to work the finish line (timing people) at the meet. BUT let me tell you how windy… and cooooold windy it was. By the 2nd hour I couldn’t hold a pencil to write if my life depended on it. And I tried to put 3 fingers up to show it was the 3rd heat… and I had a demented claw lookin thing on the end of my arm. It was terrible. :sigh: the things we do for those we love haha.

Mileage: 7 miles

Thursday – Man… I SO needed this workout, especially after the race last weekend. It definitely re-confirmed that my coach and I made the right decision to train instead of race this weekend. At the start of my workout (the 1200’s) I was sure I wasn’t going to finish the workout…but with every decrease in the distance of my repetitions (1200, 800, 400, 200) the effort got so much easier. By the time I got to the 200’s I needed barely any recovery (but you bet I sure took all I could haha). So my coach and I were really surprised because we’ve always thought that in the past my problem was not being able to get speed in my workouts, but now it seems the problem really is my endurance side… you’ll see in my 200’s… speed is not so much the problem. I felt like I was just floating around the track on the 400’s (at 1500 pace) and the 200’s (at 800 pace). I did all the workout except the 200’s in my regular running shoes, no spikes no flats because of my ankle.

3x1200 w/300 jog recovery (4:21, 4:17, 4:15), 900 jog recovery, 1x800 (2:31), 900 jog recovery, 3x400 w/ 900 jog recovery (70, 70, 68), 900 jog recovery, 3x200 w/900 jog recovery (30, 28, 27) – 11.2 miles

(bike double) 10 min warm up, 8x3min hard, 1min rec, 7 min cool down – 7 miles

Mileage: 18.2 miles
