Painting Up, Week Four
Today is the start of week four. A lot of work to get done, on and off the track. This last week went by fast, but it was exhausting. Maybe it has to do with working 20 hours on top of track and school. Nah. That's nothing. Friday and Saturday were the first home games for the volleyball, and women's soccer team here at Adams. Our track team ran to the field as a warm up, and cheered them on as we stretched. We also have a tradition of painting, POINT GRIZZLIES on our stomachs for the volleyball team. We cheered them on, but it wasn't like it was when I was freshman. It was still fun though. I'm trying to get the younger guys into it, so they will keep it up when all the old guys are gone. I think i'm the only guy who has been painting up every year since we started. Last week was the first time we practiced six out of the seven days. Depressing, maybe...maybe not. It wasn't too bad. Somebody asked why I think cross country runners are wierd. Lets just say they do a lot of random things. Who would think of going into the country side, and light fireworks till the police chased you. Good thing they can run. Nah, I think every track athlete understands me. I think Lo said it best. They are a bunch of Sally's. Monday: 10x100yd sprints, new weight program Tuesday:4x600m Wednesday: 10 X's(recovery), Weights Thursday:4x580's Friday:Sparq Training, weights Saturday: 2x3 80m Sunday: Off Well practice starts in thirty minutes. The weather sucks. cloudy with 20mph winds. Classic Alamosa. See ya next week. -The Other Lara

You need to have some more fu*cking respect for the xc guys. Without the distance guys you mincy sprinters would win jack! Mondays training 10 x 100 yards in 16 secs of 90 recovery!? The xc guys do their strides faster than that at the end of a 6 mile day! It's about time you manned up.

agreed with above comments. Anu decent genuine athlete would never criticise fellow sportspeople. They all work exremely hard to reach their goals and make alot of sacrifices- as you will find out when you take your sport seriously!,

Listen up. In no way did i say I don't respect my teammates, because I do. They do what most Americans can't do, run miles. I just said they are a little weird. They are great athletes, and I do take my sport seriously. Sorry I'm not a Nazi about training. There is no reason why I can't have fun while training. Another thing. Don't criticize my training. There is a reason we do what we do. Sorry you don"t understand that, and thanks for the comments.
Yikes!

Jeez, I think you hit a raw nerve there, Steve-o. Sally 1 & 2 need to develop a little thicker skin, I guess. When you get down to it, sprinters and distance (as well as jumps, throws, everybody) all wear ASC green, and that's what matters. We all have our idiosyncrasies.
Yeah, sorry I couldn't be there at the game last weekend. I should be set for this Saturday, but I won't be able to cheer much. Can't scream myself hoarse right before tech week for Rabbit Hole.
See ya at 321,
Bob-o
