The Excitement has finally arrived!
After a week of running without motivation, I have finally found something to run for. For the time being. My coach told me that I needed to be on a "vision quest" this year. yeah, a vision quest... I had no idea what I was going to do about that. Now i'm ready to run and actually happy i'm running track. I won't say much about my "Quest," but I am really tired of people underestimating me and my skills as a runner. So this last week was the start of unofficial practice. Monday: 10x100yard sprints at 16 sec, 90 sec rest Tuesday: 4x600m, I forget the time, 4 min rest Wednesday: 10 X's Thursday: 4x (630m) One Lapers at cole park. 4 min rest? Friday: lightening drills? something with reaction. i'll find out. Saturday: Off Sunday: Off That was an interesting week. It was embarrassing because I didn't run all summer, and it shows. oh well. This Saturday the college had its first CC meet! They won, no surprise there. The surprise was their pack time. WOW. They may be a bunch of wierd guys, but they are damn good athletes. They could go all the way this year. Knock on wood. I hope I don't have eat my words again. Earlier this year, I wrote that adams would win indoor confrence. I got a lot of crap from western for that comment. Whoops... moving on to something less depressing. I saw jordan cooper running for western. That interesting because I knew her when we were younger, and I didn't know that she ran for them. Other that school is pretty good. Already ahead of a few, and trying really hard to go to every class. Oh yeah, last week I had a few comments. I was super excited because no one ever comments. I didn't even care that they called me mediocre. Then my friends and I decided that all blogs were mediocre to some point. well I have to go read, or work. see you around people. -The Other Lara

reading between the lines I seem to agree with your coach- you need a vision quest if you want to improve and start winning next season. Agree your vision for running and make sure its SMART and remember your goals/aims/quest every time you train and race. Keep this vital focus and be totally disciplined in running. The vision quest will push your body to perform better and the improvements will motivate you to put in more effort. Are you serious about athletics? By the way why are the xc guys weirdos?
movie...
I think there is an actual movie called Vision Quest. It is about a high school wrestler....kind of 80's cheesy, but solid at some parts.
What?
