Oregon is nuts!
I have no words to explain the tials. I was pretty much speechless the first night. It was insane. We (my brother and older sister, plus me) arrived in portland, and drove to Eugene. The next day we went to check out the fan zone, and hung out there till the meet started. I loved being there especially because i had orange hair, but i was in the middle of oregon territory. So every now and then, I would tell some random person, Go Beavers!, or, Where are the beavers? It was fun. Our tickets were in section K. Which was at the start of the 200. They sucked but, it was still fun to be there. The first day of the trials, was pretty boring. Prelims, semis, and the 10K final. It was fun to watch it. I know. Its long and boring, but not this time. Shalane won easily, and kara was right behind. The story of the night was Amy Begley. She was the third runner to finish. Everyone was cheering for Kara, and Shalane finished the race, but the crowd went nuts for Amy. Her last lap she had to run under 70 seconds to make the olympic stantard, and she had not run the necessary time yet. So she was sprinting as fast as she could. Everyone was clapping and yelling as she ran her last 400. As soon as she finished everyone in the stadium was waiting to see if she made it. Sure enough, she made it, and crowd went nuts! Everyone was so loud. It was amazing. I have never seen a crowd like that. I'm really blessed that I got the chance to watch 4 days of the trials. It was really fun. I have more to write.
