DII Nationals!

November 13, 2007 at 5:47 PM - 1 comments - link

OK… So here we go again.  This weekend is going to be crazy.  Why is it going to be crazy?  One reason, The DII NCAA Cross Country National Championships!  That’s right.  Everyone is getting ready, and making last minute travel arrangements.  This is probably going to be the best race I’ll see for the rest of the year.  Abilene Christian v Adams State v Western State, this should entertain me for a couple hours.  Everyone is rested and ready to kick some ass.  Who’s going to win?  Well you can pretty much guess who I’m betting on.  Adams.  You can just hear how excited they are to run.  It doesn’t matter to them if Hogarth or Nicodemus return to the line up.  Because when it comes down to it, Adams State still has something no other team has.  Huevos!  No I’m just playing, I’m sure there are a few runners out there that have them too.  Seriously though, I’m getting goose bumps just writing about this race.  Why?  It’s going to be the biggest dog fight this weekend.  It is literally the best three teams in the nation running for bragging rights till next season, and for the all important National title.

The girl’s team is looking for another repeat.  They’re super strong, and I’m pretty sure that all they have to do is show up to the race to get the title.  Knock on wood…  Not you Heather.  But seriously, these girls have it going on.  At the least, they could have six girls make all-American.  They’re more than ready to just run, they’re going to dominate.

I’m not only excited for my team, but my family and friends on the cross team.  I’m really excited because my brother Nicholas is on the team for his senior season.   Not only is my Brother in the line up, but my cousin Antonio.  I’ve been running with him for years, and can’t wait to see what he does in Missouri.  Plus one of my best friends is on the girl’s team.  I’ve know here since the 1st grade!  I’m really proud of them, and know they’re all going to do great.  I’m headed up to Missouri this weekend, and hopefully all goes well for the grizzlies.
