It was good being back in Arkansas for the second time after last year's NCAA indoor meet. I never thought I'd be there for just a regular meet because I was always on the east coast running. It was a good meet though, just running the 60 made it a nice and unstressful day. But, it did feel wierd to me being at a track meet and representing myself as an unattached athlete instead of representing a team. It's something that I can get used to for this year but I'll still be looking forward to being able to represent TCU next year though. As far as my performance..i think it is a good start to the season...i think. I don't even know if the 60 is my event or if my season really started since I haven' t run the 400 yet.......? I don't even know which event I'll be pursuing more of this season. I guess we'll see.

Quotes to Live by...
As I'm about to leave the training room before I go out to practice, I'm suddenly stopped in my tracks because of the steady downpour of rain. So, I figured I'll just stand there a while until it calms down. While I'm thinking of reasons why I shouldn't be practicing, I glance up to see a quote that catches my attention. It read, "some of us will do our job well, And some of us won't...But we will all be judged by only one thing______the result." All of a sudden, some stregnth built up in me and it made me not care about the rain, not care that it was exam week and that I was tired, not care that I didn't have time to eat lunch, and not care that all the conditions weren't up to par. At that point, that quote became so real to me and it changed my whole attitude about practice today. Like coach Id-deen, the coach who coached me my first year in college used to say, "there's always somebody whose training harder than you" that would always get me up and ready to work harder. Now, I can add this quote to my list and use it as I train through christmas break, because that is basically what it comes down to....the result.

COLD IN TEXAS!!??
Okay first I just want to say why didn't anyone tell me that it got this cold in Texas!....I came here with thoughts that it would be about low 70s at the worst...? I guess I was wrong. Anyway, today's workout was pretty cool. 10 laps of jog the curb run the straight away is exactly what I needed after feeling like crap the whole weekend. Now, I feel great!

Richmond to TCU
For my first blog entry, I thought it would be a good idea to respond to a forum that was on here some time back about me and my status as a collegiat athlete (after transferring from Richmond to TCU). After going through the appeals and yadda yadda....finally they decided that I have to sit out a year. I can't say that I'm all torn up about it, i mean yea I'll be missing out on NCAA's, and regionals, etc. but I do believe that things happen for a reason. So, with that said, I'm thanking God because this may mean that he has other (better) plans for me that maybe I can't see yet.
I do have some meets to look forward to this year though. I dont know which ones yet exactly but you'll definetely see me around for a few indoor meets.
Although I have to relinquish my title as a collegiate athlete for this year, I still have very high hopes for myself on and off the track and in no way am I down or feeling sad about anything. I feel really good about my decisions and I can't wait until the season starts.
