More Early Results for the Weekend of 3/01/08
In additional competition on Friday, Jake Shanklin (Wyoming) won a close competition against Jason Schutz (Colorado State) at the Mountaint West Conference Championships. Shanklin threw 21.67m (71-01.25) to overcome a two foot personal best of 21.17 (69-05.50) by Schutz.
Saturady also produced some top results on the men's side. As expeceted, Jake Dunkleberger (Auburn) easily won the SEC Championships on Saturday with a toss of 21.75m (71-04.25). At the WAC Championships, Matt Wauters (Idaho) took the early lead and threw a season's best, but it was not enough to beat Simon Wardhaugh (Boise State) who won by less than a foot. More meets, including the Big Ten Championships, will take place on Sunday, so stay tuned for additional results.
