Eugene Hammer Facility Removed
The city of Eugene, Oregon has decided to remove the off-campus hammer throwing facility located just north of Willamette River near Autzen Stadium for environmental reasons. This move will not directly affect the University of Oregon, which recently put in a new hammer cage on campus as part of it's remodel for the 2008 Olympic Trials. The off-campus facility featured two cages and was primarily used by Stuart Togher's post-collegiate training group. However, with the upcoming Olympic Trials, the facility was likely to be used by competitors for training since access to the competition venue will likely be restricted.
