Man, where should I begin?
Ok so let me catch yall up to speed on the life and times of yours truly. February 1st and 2nd, Im in Nebraska for their big Invite meet and all is good, no flight delays, no bad weather, nothing but positive energy right? Ha! remember this is my life, so you know something crazy had to happen. On Friday, they held the prelims of the 60m, I open up 6.72, I made a few mistakes that was pointed out to me by some of my people, so I now know what had to be done come Saturday. Later that night, I noticed had this funny feeling in my right knee, didn't feel like much so I blew off. So now its Saturday and its the day of the 60m finals. I had no signs of pain of any sort, so I begin to warm up and I felt great, I knew I was going to post a decent time and also work on being aggressive in a one race final, to make a long track story short, I got second to Ivory Williams (whats good boy) 6.65 to 6.68! Pretty successful trip you would think right? WRONG!!!! So later that night Im out with my people and I started to notice that my right knee is like hurting really bad. My range of motion was very limited to say the least, I had no idea whats was wrong with me. So now its Sunday and I'm heading back to Albuquerque and on Monday I had my trainers look at it and they are lost as well, now if this isnt weird I don't know what is! It had to be some crazy freak accident! So now I gotta fly to New York City (home town) to run at the New Balance Games, but things isnt feeling right at all, all week, so my practice was limited to lifting and pool workouts. So now Im in New York staying at my parents house (scared my mother and father half to death cuz they didnt know I was coming home lol) and my knee is still feeling iffy. So Friday comes around and I guess it was the adrenaline rush and being caught up in the moment, my knee started to feel alot better.....so we think! Im warming up and all is well. Now I know I could posted a sick time, cause I was in that type of mind state, plus Im home too, so that spelled trouble for those in my race. Now we in the blocks and I feel ok, gun goes off and Im cruising...LITERALLY! So I say to myself, "ok, hit it" as soon as I do, my knee popped halfway in the race and I had to shut it off completely. All I could say is why me? why now? why this season? damn can I stay healthy for one full year? So I go get a x-ray and MRI and they didnt see any damage in the knee....thank god! But, I got some contusion(spell check) on the outside part of my knee and they said I should be ready to go in a few weeks, so that meant no Tyson nor USA Indoors for me. If I wasnt as strong in the head as I am, I think I would of quit, but I'm not built that way in the least bit. God has his plan and his plan for me was to not run at the national meet this past weekend, and as much as it hurted to watch a final go off that I knew damn well I would of been in, the best thing for me was to sit in them stand and not risk further injury...there is always next season, and right now, my focus is on this small town in the State of Oregon at the end of June, Im not paying all that money only to run one time! Oh hell no! I plan on running 4 races that weekend, so that got to be the big picture here. Shout out to my girl Lolo doing her thing this weekend, handle business girl! Shout out to Kellie Wells as well, you did your thing too girl, and next time, buy your own drink..lol! Shout out to Brianna Glenn, that might of been the funniest trip from the airport to a hotel ever! I never seen someone so scared of snow like ol girl was..Lmao! You handled yours this weekend and it was nice being able to talk to you...FINALLY!!! Lol! Big ups to my lil homie Mike for winning that 60m, remember what I told you at that party kid, I got your back son! Hold it down in Spain in two weeks. Mark, remember...zipper sex..LMAO!!!!!! Aight peoples, outdoor season is here and its time to re-focus, I'll holla! Oh Yeah, I almost got shot in a night club out there in Boston...YEP! I'll touch on that in my next blog cause this flight attendant is getting on my last nerve. I love my t-mobile dash!
