Im a National Champion!!!

Imagine the most exciting moment you ever had, a birthday, your wedding day, the birth of a child, anything the heartiest laugh or highest moment of elation....thats what winning a national championship with three of your friends feels like! so when you win your coach gets to hand out the the trophies to each team, this was exciting to me because ive received 11 other trophies from someone else, someone elses coach had the ability to stand in his athletes face and smile and no that all the work that the two of them did was not in vain, someone else got to stand up there and catch a moment of congradulatory praise from everyone in the stadium, someone else got to do what i wanted my coach to do so bad for years and now everyone got to see the worker behind our talents and accomplishments  yes i was happy about that!

I honestly dreamed about throwing my hands up after winning a national championship as a freshman and now as a junior i finally got to do just that, black "mystery" baton went straight to the air as i plunged across the finish line. The most exciting part had to be me screaming inside my head during the last fifty meters as lactic acid was no match for me, years of dedication and determination was fifty meters away and i new it!

My teammates all got to experience a taste of leading a national race as everyone led at the handoff, no matter what happened during the 400m leg each cougar ran the competition was no match for us...I felt confident anchoring such a talented relay because my girls show up and show out!!!!

As if that wasnt exciting enough, I finally got some personal satisfaction from the one race that started my track career the 400m dash, now ive been to indoor nationals 3 times in this event and only made finals once, this weekend being the magic race. The prelim was a very emotional race for because the only way i would advance to the final was to turn my weakness into my strength ( now i no you didnt think id tell you what my weakness was did you!!!) but ill say this I DID IT!!!! although i didnt run the perfect race in the finals i finished 2nd in my heat and 3rd overall and I loved every minute er second of it lactic acid and all! Now i can finally put it to bed and focus on these hurdles!!!

Now its time to take a quick and i mean quick break and turn the focus to outdoor...400hurdles is the first thing that comes to mind when i say outdoor track and im ready to learn all i can about it...i have such big goals and i might as well go after them while im feeling lucky!

"I want to win everyday, every interval, every weight session, every cool down, i want it more than you!"

Oh how could i not mention this my coaches were also named: Regional and National Coach of the Year by division II athletics for the women !!!!! Congrats
